Mechanics of Speed
dating
What is speed
dating all about? Speed dating is essentially meeting a multitude of
people of the opposite gender in one night. Normally you’ll get to spend
5 minutes with each of these persons. During this allocated 5 minutes,
both of you will have a brief opportunity to say something about
yourself, what you do and the kind of person you’ll hoping to be with.

How does one
join a speed dating event? Your best chance of getting invited to
these events is to join a dating website, which plays host to these
exclusive parties in clubs. As a member, you’ll get email invitations
about the details: where, what, when and how.
So let’s say you get your invitation, and accept. On the night itself,
when you arrive, register, so you get a name tag and get counted as
present.
There will be hosts to facilitate the entire event. It usually begins
with the hosts asking the opposite sexes to form one line each and
stay at opposite ends. A gong or bell starts the event, and it will
also signal the end of each 5-minute date, so you’ll need to move on
to the next person you’re dating, hence speed dating.
What’s good about speed dating is that it allows you to meet all these
persons, with no pressure or stress. Hopefully, you’ll form favorable
impressions with these persons, and want to get to know some of them
at a deeper level. As the writer J. Carter once said, "First
impressions, being the longest lasting, are of utmost importance.
How do you go about getting in touch with these persons or person?
Like you, they have profiles online. You can browse through these and
chat at leisure. Here - speed isn’t a problem.....
